Introduce Experiencing Chinese Program
- A program designed for the student from Non-Chinese Speaking family
Objective: Provide non-Chinese speaking students a naturally learning Chinese environment. Introduces young readers to basic Chinese sentences in a daily living environment and focuses on providing students the opportunity to practice Chinese speaking through the class activities.
Curriculum details: The program specially designed for children living in non-Chinese speaking communities. The textbook used in class is “My First Chinese Reader” series by Better Chinese ( http://www.betterchinese.com/elementary/My-First-Chinese-Reader/ ) , which is designed for the elementary student with no prior exposure to Chinese. Based on a communicative approach, this student-centric 4-volume, 48 lesson curriculum builds Chinese language and culture skills in a spiral-up approach. High-quality illustrations, fun and relevant context, and motivational design empower students with knowledge and confidence to explore Chinese language and culture. Each volume (12 lessons) is recommended to be completed in 1 academic year (approximately 28 weeks). The whole series is planned to be completed in 4 academic years. The textbook comprises with a comprehensive selection of sentence patterns, easy-to-read Chinese characters, Pinyin, and colorful pictures. Each lesson features sections on vocabulary, exercises, character practice and a reading challenge, along with English translations for each vocabulary word and sentence. Volume 1 covers greetings, names, nationalities, school, family, home, dates, fruit, school supplies, food and more.

中文体验班简介
中文体验班是专门为母语非华语家庭的小学生所设计开办的。通过课堂上的日常汉语对话练习，汉字笔划的介绍，汉字的读写，逐步引入简单的汉语句型，使孩子们初步掌握基础汉语知识。教材选用 Better Chinese Ltd编写的“My First Chinese Reader” 系列( http://www.betterchinese.com/elementary/My-First-Chinese-Reader/ )，课程设计完全符合小学生第二语言学习规律。教材系列共含有4册课本（48篇课文），循序渐近地引导学生掌握基础汉语的听，说，读，写，体验中华文字和文化。每册课本（12篇课文）计划1学年（28个星期）完成，整套教材系列将用4学年教完。教材的编写采用拼音、易懂的汉字、综合的句型和彩色的图片，充分介绍了日常生活中的基本汉语。每课包含固定项目：生词、练习、习写字和读一读，并且生词和句型均有英文翻译。第一册涵盖问好、姓名、国籍、学校、家庭、家人、日期、水果、学校设备、食品等等。
